Sharon Sandberg - Daughter of the Late John R. Sandberg; Wife of Duane Kruse.
Sharon became involved with aviation when she was just a toddler. Her and Dad would go flying in almost any type of aircraft he owned or was loaned. She was the one that adapted well to extreme attitudes at any speed.
Christmas of 1974 Sharon recieved 5 flying lessons at the local FBO in Crystal, MN. She was only 14 when she started to fly. At the age of 16 Sharon soloed a Cherokee 140 and a year later cross country soloed the same aircraft. Due to discovering the opposite sex; her flying took back seat. After 10 years, she received her Pilots Liscense. Two years later she earned her Instrument Liscense. Her last gift to her Dad in 1991 was passing the Commercial written. Again, her flying had to take a back seat to raising her daughter.
Over the last 18 years; Sharon has grown her custom embroidery and screen printing business to a 2800 sq. ft. building with another 600+ for the screen printing side.
During the years racing Tsunami; Sharon was the behind the scenes person that put togehter the crew wear, the saleable merchandise and any other odds and ends.
She has still kept her love of air racing alive through her newsletter Speed, Props & Pylons.
